Why should I choose A+?

Our six classroom instructors will divide teaching the 30 classroom hours. Different personalities and teaching styles will keep students engaged causing time to pass quickly. Classroom activities will include group activities, games and even a field trip! State-of-the-art technology enhances classroom presentation.

With 12 certified instructors rotating through four cars, students will complete their driving hours quickly on a schedule that works best for them. A+ offers pick-up from all Salisbury schools. Driving lessons are offered from 8:00 AM until 7:00 PM Monday through Saturday.

A+ Driving School has a flexible payment plan. Classes fill up fast, but a $200 deposit will reserve a seat and get students started. Students may take up to a year to finish payments.

Students will receive a $10 discount for an Honor Roll report card or a college identification card. A+ also offers a discount for twins and for two or more family members taking the class together.

Classroom instruction at A+ can work around students' busy schedules. Students may take the classroom when it is convenient, perhaps in the summer, and then wait to schedule the driving lessons later. If a student has to miss a class, that class can be made up in a later session.

What does the course include?

The course includes 30 hours of classroom and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. Students may purchase additional driving hours.

Who must take driver education?

Anyone regardless of age who has never had a driver's license must take driver education in Maryland.

When am I eligible to take driver education?

You may take driver education any time after you are 15 years old. You do not need a learner's permit to take the classroom portion, but you do need a permit to complete the six hours of driving instruction.

How do I obtain a Maryland driver's license?

Once you are 15 and 9 months, you can test for a learner's permit ($50) at the MVA. You must hold the learner's permit at least nine months and have a minimum of 60 practice driving hours recorded. The permit is good for two years. Once the driver education requirement of 30 classroom hours and 6 hours behind the wheel is completed, you may schedule a test at the MVA to demonstrate your driving competence. By passing that test, you receive your provisional driver's license. You must hold that license for 18 months with a clean driving record to be eligible for the full Maryland driver's license.
